Plane: B737-800.
Status: AAdvantage Gold.
Seat: Exit Row – Main Cabin Extra. The seat offers an incredible amount of space/leg room but isn’t much more comfortable than a regular main cabin seat in terms of padding. The extra space is definitely noticeable.
Check-in: Priority check-in with CITI AA EXEC credit card + AAdvantage Gold. Check in was easy breezy but the baggage conveyor was broken so the agent asked if we could roll our luggage down to an area American had set up for baggage handling – LOL.
Security: CLEAR and TSA-Precheck.
Terminal A:
Club at CVG – quick stop to grab a light snack and drink. It was incredibly hot inside the lounge so I didn’t stay long at all. The staff was very friendly and there was a nice dinner spread.
Flight: Flight was great! We actually landed 20 minutes early and had no turbulence. This is pretty rare from my experience as it’s almost always a little bumpy entering North Texas.
Now, as great as the flight was, there was an interaction between a passenger and flight attendant (FA) that was unreal.
The FA was standing in the row directly in front of us under the overhead bins. A young lady asked the flight attendant if there was room in the bin above her + help with her carry on and this is what FA said:
“I don’t know. I can’t see up there.”
“Sorry. My ex-ray vision isn’t working today.”
“I can’t help you. My arms don’t reach that high.”
Everyone was dumbfounded by the interaction. Another passenger ended up helping the young lady. The FA just stood there with a smirk on her face. I’ve never seen a FA that rude or unprofessional before. WOWZA.
If you follow the blog you’ve probably picked up on that fact that I almost exclusively fly Delta and American. I always tell people that there isn’t much difference between the two – HOWEVER – I am starting to notice what people call the “Delta difference”. This is a clear example of that. I’ve never seen a Delta FA treat a passenger that poorly. I’m sure it probably happens as well – I’ve just never seen it in person.
Still not a fan of ATL though.
