Just like that – United decides it doesn’t want to get left behind in credit card spend and implements some changes to the United MileagePlus program for 2024.
United is kindly giving all status members a jumpstart on spending requirements (PQP).
In addition, United is making it easier to earn PQPs to help all its loyal flyers achieve their Premier Status goals through credit card spend. I mean – who really wants to fly to achieve status with an airline when you can spend your way there?
BEST OF ALL – you can now spend your way to Premier 1K with a credit card and a minimum of only 4 flights. Hells yeah!!! Bye bye 54 segments!
So let’s take a look at how you can qualify for each tier in 2024.
As other’s have already pointed out – the earning rate for every co-branded Chase United card is at a 20:1 PQP earning ratio per dollar spent. That’s pretty much crap.
If my math is right – that’s a whopping $480K in spend to meet the 24K PQP requirement for Premier 1K.
Who woulda thought Delta’s $350K credit spend to reach Diamond would actually be a bargain. Wowza.
I don’t know about you – but I think I’m gonna have to keep earning my Premier Status the old fashioned way.
That’s right. I’m actually gonna fly. A lot.
Imagine that.
