My Thoughts:

  • Best of the Delta card lineup if you are looking to accumulate SkyMiles as it has the best earning multipliers.
  • Lacks in MQD earning based on credit card spend (Delta Reserve is better for that).
  • I always check a bag so having the first checked bag free adds up in value for me.
  • The $150 Delta Stays credit brings the annual fee down to $200.
    • Most people should pretty easily get a Companion Ticket valued at $200+ based on the cost of airfare nowadays to cover the remaining annual fee.
  • Stack multiple Delta cards to achieve Delta Medallion Status.
    • MQD Boost per card helps with achieving Delta status:
      • Silver Medallion
        • $700 Annual Fees – Amex Delta Platinum + Amex Delta Platinum Business cards.
        • $1,000 Annual Fees – Amex Delta Platinum + Amex Delta Reserve/Delta Reserve Business cards.
      • Gold Medallion
        • $2,000 Annual Fees – Both the Amex Delta Platinum & Amex Delta Platinum Business cards + Amex Delta Reserve & Amex Delta Reserve Business cards.
  • Worth having even for the casual Delta flyer.
